Mission-Vocation Youth Jamboree
T
he Diocese of Novaliches held, on October 25, 2008, a successful and inspirational overnight "Mission-Vocation Youth Jamboree"
at the Santuario de San Vicente de Paul, Quezon City. More than 1200 young people and a good number of Priests, Brothers,
and Sisters took part of this event, which was organized by the Diocesan Mission Animation Ministry of Novaliches –headed
by Fr. Polash Henry Gomes, S.X., in collaboration with the Parish of St. Francis Xavier on which Fr. Gomes is the Vicar.
This jamboree main goal was to promote the Missionary-Zeal which is intrinsic to the Church and to promote the diversity of Vocations,
especially the Religious and Priestly lives, to which all Christians are called. It was a nice event which included:
“Mission and Vocation” talk by Most. Reverend Bishop Theodoro Bacani, “A Vocation Story” by Fr. Jason,
“The Mission” and contemporary dance, and “The Calling” a contemporary drama. The Priest and Religious who were present at the event
delighted the youth with a multicultural concert. All of it with the only end exclusive purpose
of inspiring the youth of the diversity of angles that our Christian Life has towards Mission and Vocation in our contemporary world.
The jamboree culminated with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by Most Reverend Antonio Tobias, D.D.
–Bishop of the Diocese of Novaliches. We hope that after sharing time and stories with priest and religious,
many youth my follow the voice of God to consecrate themselves to His service and to the Mission!
